Gale Nightrider - Lochesh NPC

Surprise! Ordinarily, these guys would stay in my head since it was just for the lols to see what Rallen and Jody would be like in the Sixfold-League world, but SnowKuki convinced me to make this guy into a real character so her character, Amelia Butler, could meet more people. Bascially, while I was working on the Rallen and Jody comic, it just occurred to me how many Ghost, Dark, and (especially) Psychic-type Pokemon were my favorites, and thus, I could have easily entered as a competitor for Lochesh if I was thinking about that at the time. But my competitor's still for Terran Alto first and foremost, since I still like the Native American theme the most.

It was way more fun to work in the Victorian theme than I originally thought it was. Especially with male characters. But don't expect to see this guy appearing in comics anytime soon—he's currently only going to appear in cameos in SnowKuki's comics, and it's only when Gale has a chance to do an event with Amelia that we will do a collab comic. Because he's also a paranormal investigator, Gale might also appear in any stories that feature Amy Lightbloom, too.

THE TRAINER

Personality: Gale is very serious, and usually keeps himself calm and collected, acting like the gentleman he has been trained to be. He hates being treated like a little kid (his height for his age doesn't help...) and wants to prove that he can do things by himself. Though he can become a bit exasperated with said wild, happy-go-lucky people, (especially Jody's antics) he also doesn't mind them because they're one of the few sources of excitement in his life. He can also sit still and focus for long periods of time, a trait that comes in handy with his paranormal investigations. He's also cynical, sarcastic, and has somewhat of a superiority complex to other people, leaving him with few friends. Not that he ever feels like he needs them...much.

Brief History: Gale is the only child of Edward and Florence Nightrider, two very Victorian people who first met thanks to their Pokemon, Rallen and Jody, respectively. The Nightrider family is very strict and stoical, and they support their region above all. From his parents, the young Gale learned everything about how to be a gentleman in society, how to compose himself, proper manners, etc. However, he also wanted to be a Pokemon trainer, and at age 10, the first Pokemon he ever caught was a Dusclops, whom he encountered one night while wandering the forests of Lochesh by himself. He named the Dusclops "Butler", and even after evolving into a Dusknoir, Butler always listened to Gale. Four years had passed, though, and Gale's mother wouldn't stop treating him like a little child. Figuring that this was because poor Gale looked young for his age, his dad gave him Raleigh and Jody, and helped arrange for him to leave the house and live at the Nightingale Manor with lots of other trainers. Unfortunately, registration and Round 1 had already passed, so Gale couldn't join the tournament despite having three Pokemon. He figures, though, that anywhere is better than with his mom.

Misc: Interests include study of the paranormal, and as such, his room is full of high-tech equipment used to record data. The current case he is working on involves a weird group of aliens who for some reason always seem to be chasing after a certain little girl. He is also friends with the wacky, fun-loving Amelia Butler. No one can say for sure how this happened, but it has been said that Jody and her wild antics have been heavily involved.

Jody the Bisharp



Gender: Female
Nature: Jolly
Characteristic: Loves to eat
Ability: Defiant
Moveset: Night Slash, Iron Head, Swords Dance, Metal Sound
Accessory: Giratina Wings

Misc: Originally Florence (Gale's mom)'s Pokemon. Like Gale, she wanted to leave because her trainer was becoming overbearing, as well as trying to insist that she be proper and lady-like all the time. But Jody's not a complete tomboy—many of Florence's influences have already left their mark. She doesn't mind wearing dresses (only for dancing, though), and has pretty much become Florence's replacement in making sure that Gale is okay, much to his chagrin. Though her wild antics can embarrass poor Gale at times, Gale holds a lot of respect for Jody, as of his three Pokemon, her battle skills are the highest. She's an extremely independent Bisharp—she does whatever she wants, often ignores Gale's orders (especially when Rallen is around), and is often seen trying to share a conversation with other humans, forgetting that only Gale can understand her now. Out of Gale and his Pokemon, she gets along the best with Amelia Butler, and is often seen trying to go shopping with her. The only time Jody ever follows Gale's orders to the letter is in battle. Not that she needs to, though. She can often figure out strategies before he can.

Rallen the Beheeyem

Nature: Relaxed
Characteristic: Often dozes off
Ability: Synchronize
Moveset: Psychic, Telekinesis, Miracle Eye, Simple Beam
Accessory: Black Handkerchief

Misc: Originally Edward (Gale's dad)'s Pokemon. It is said that it was because of him and Jody that Edward and Florence originally met. Rallen is really smart, and Gale looks up to him for his knowledge about all things. He usually follows all of Gale's orders, but whenever Jody's out of her Mirage Ball at the same time...yeah, good luck to Gale getting Rallen to listen to him. Whenever Gale is out doing some paranormal investigations and research, he always brings Rallen along with him. Because who better to help investigate such phenomena as aliens than an alien himself?

Butler the Dusknoir



Gender: Male
Nature: Modest
Characteristic: Often lost in thought
Ability: Pressure
Moveset: Shadow Punch, Trick Room, Will-o-Wisp, Pain Split
Accessory: White Bow Tie

Misc: The first Pokemon that Gale ever caught. Gale prefers to keep Butler out of his Mirage Ball as a personal bodyguard. This guy is truly a butler and a gentleman in every sense of the word, and treats everyone with dignity and respect. However, he also has a tendency to act rather creepy at times without warning. He has a rather morbid way of speech, saying things like, "I am only serving you because the spirit world is telling me to take your soul on the day you die..." It used to unsettle Gale, but he's gotten used to it lately, and now views it as proof that Butler is a true friend who would never leave him.
