Once again, another scene that wasn't included in the original script (in fact, the entirety of Chapter 4 was like that!). I'm glad I included it in, because it helped slow down the plot long enough for the romance to be easily processed instead of feeling all rushed and stuff. In particular, an advantage to not being able to work on this plot until now is now I get to put in some Flabebe in there instead of just Volbeat and Illumise~. They say that in the PMD-E verse, they'll assume that the Gen 6 Pokemon were always there to begin with, so this works just fine.

Actually, it was during a much earlier random RP with ~CrimsonAngelofShadow that this confession scene even came into my mind at all! But if this scene seems to evoke the mood and imagery of a certain page in Chapter 2 of the official Metroid manga, then that's no accident~. That scene wouldn't leave my mind when I thought of this.

I guess the fact that Rallen has no visible mouth sort of diminishes the impact of the shojo-style kissing scene there, but screw that. He technically does have a mouth, so it still works.

I actually went for a different approach to this page from all the other ones; namely I wanted to try a shojo manga style approach, complete with thin lines, more toned shading than usual, and lots and lots of sparkly bubbles that can be taken both literally here as well as figuratively. Also the first time I was able to pull off that "figurative floating head on top of a panel" trick. Not easy, but once you get the technique down, it's awesome~. One more page left until we're finished with Chapter 4!
