Amy was born as the only child to Danny and Neena Lightbloom in the capital of the Saros region, Epicent City. Though Neena tried to teach her much about the Terran Alto culture and even took the whole family there every summer, Amy always had a tendency to prefer Epicent City, both for its cooler climate and for the fact that it's the most technologically advanced place in the Saros region. That, and running on the automated walkways made her able to go so much faster than running anywhere else, and she quickly became able to navigate her way around the city easily.
From a very early age, ever since she first started learning about Pokémon, she quickly identified her most favorite Pokémon to be Jigglypuff and practically no one else. Though because of the fact that one could not understand what a Pokémon was saying unless they were captured in a Mirage Ball registered to the owner, Amy agreed with her parents to try and catch many others and see if she could learn to like other Pokémon.
Though she did manage to catch many of the surrounding Normal-types living both in the city and around it, she let them all go, figuring that they were happier by themselves, and only wanting true friends (i.e. a species that she liked above all). She soon got her chance at 7 years old when she stumbled upon a heavily injured Jigglypuff who had recently been banished from her tribe, and caught her. This Jigglypuff's name was Pluffy, and, being grateful that Amy saved her life, agreed to be her partner…for the time being, at least.
Amy loved Pluffy very much, but at the same time, Pluffy eventually proved to be a bit of a handful at times, always trying out stunts that Amy worried were too dangerous in an attempt to "impress" her trainer. One summer, when the family went to the beach, an Eelektross named Shiba attempted to eat Amy, and it was only thanks to Neena and Pluffy's quick thinking that Amy's life was saved. Pluffy then resolved to get stronger so nothing like this would ever happen to Amy again, and Amy became a little more agreeable to letting Pluffy get stronger in this regard.
Shortly after she turned 10, Professor Charles Ivory and Mira Matron announced the annual Sixfold League tournament, and when Neena excitedly signed up for her home faction of Terran Alto, the whole family had no choice but to come along with her. Amy was happy to see her family on her mother's side again, and made friends with another new trainer, 21-year-old Dakota Kakkar. But the three Pokémon her mother chose for the tournament, Quana, Koton, and Taiko, scared her. During Event 1, when everyone had to go attend the Annual Saros Ball in the Nightingale Manor in Lochesh, again, Neena dragged the whole family there, especially a reluctant Amy, who wasn't too thrilled about the formal dresswear, the creepiness of the Lochesh faction in general, and especially faction leader Lady Lyra Nightingale, who appeared to take an immediate dislike to the child.
As if that wasn't enough, it was then that a new threat appeared: A group of Elgyems led by a Beyeehem floated from the sky and suddenly tried to capture Amy for unknown reasons. Not even Pluffy could effectively fight against such aliens who could freely levitate in the sky, and to Amy's surprise, it was Quana the Sigilyph who fought off the aliens and rescued her. She then realized that her mother's Pokémon probably weren't so scary after all. But she tried to keep this alien problem a secret at all costs, figuring no one would ever believe her.
But the aliens wouldn't give up, and one day, her mother found out. Enraged, she immediately dropped from the tournament and called up a professional to help out despite Amy's protests. This professional turned out to be 14-year-old Gale Nightrider from the Lochesh region, who Amy was immediately suspicious of. He promised to help in the investigation.
To this day, Amy tries to continue on with her normal life, but in her mind, knows that the aliens won't leave her alone just like that. She desperately hopes that she can one day find out why they want her in the first place.
Amy is definitely not the type to try and fight with someone, instead preferring to either talk things out, work out a compromise, or run away FAST. This is one of the major reasons why she's glad that Epicent City citizens don't get to participate in the tournament—she's worried that because she now meets the minimum age requirement, her mom would somehow force her to join if that was the case.
She's an extremely hard worker who tries to get on her parents' good sides if at all possible, though there are still times where she disagrees with them, especially her mother, when it comes to fashion, battle advice, etc. Her mom used to always decide on fashion for her, but at this point in time, she's starting to be able to pick out outfits for herself, though her mom has to approve them.
She also treasures her relationship with Pluffy and wants to keep her safe no matter what, though Pluffy's antics drive her nuts sometimes. Still, since she knows that Pluffy is only doing so for her sake, she tries not to get too angry with her. In addition, because Pluffy personality is about the equivalent of a 17-year-old, Amy seems to have little trouble making friends with people as old as 20/21 years old, and even older sometimes, such as Professor Charles Ivory.
Her overall mood is rather excitable, sunny, and lighthearted, though there are still times when she's really scared, sad, or even angry. She's demonstrated an ability to shrug off negative emotions to some extent, though, especially when jogging/running. And because she was raised in Epicent City, she's extremely tech-savvy, able to quickly figure out how new technology works…though her limited allowance doesn't let her buy nearly as many hi-tech devices as her parents could.
She prefers to keep Pluffy out of her Mirage Ball, unless Pluffy gets herself into trouble.
To get more allowance money, to become able to run like the wind in places besides Epicent City, to make her parents proud, to be awesome at color coordination and interior design, to stay best friends forever with Pluffy, and most importantly of all, find out what those aliens want her for.

Sorry, but I think I'll pass. I've already got my own storied planned for Amy.
