Part 7: The Thing She Never Repeats

Ligray smiled.

“Why are you so surprised? Oh, right. You don’t remember your training, do you? But I do. I remember everything now, Rigley. About how I was at the top of the class…about what our real mission was.” She chuckled. “Rigley, don’t you know? We were sent to their planet…” She pointed at Amy and Chikorita, who were still struggling to get up. “…to observe them. And from what we’ve gathered, High Command—Can you believe it? Our mom and dad are the leaders of this whole planet!—has decided that we’re invading it. And guess what? As soon as I help you regain your memories, we’re going to be the first ones into battle, just like you wanted.”

“No…” Rigley was still in shock, not only at what his sister was telling him, but also because of the way she barely seemed to be in control of herself. She seemed slightly off-balance, almost as if she was barely keeping herself sane and could snap at any second. “Why…? I mean…that can’t be true! That just can’t…!”

“You’re just in denial, that’s all.” She circled around him in a playful yet menacing way. “But don’t worry. You can get your memories back right here…it’ll only take a moment.”

She snapped her fingers, and an electric cage formed around Rigley, preventing him from moving anywhere else. “HEY!” he shouted. “Sis! Let me out of here! I don’t want to be evil and—!”

“Stop fussing. It’ll only take a moment…”

As she pushed him closer to an odd white stone held in the middle of the wall to the right, Amy groaned, “Ligray…why…? I thought…we were friends…”

Ligray immediately diverted her attention away from Rigley, yanked Amy into the air, and smashed her against the wall. “Friends? FRIENDS? Oh no, Amy…we were NEVER supposed to be ‘friends’. Besides…” She jabbed the electrical device right into Amy again.

“LEAVE HER ALONE!” A very angry Chikorita slammed into Ligray using Ancientpower, forcing her to drop the device again. She then tied Ligray up with Vine Whip as hard as she could, and shouted, “You’re not Ligray! Who the heck ARE you!?”

In retaliation, Ligray managed to yank Chikorita off of her and slam her into the wall, too, crushing both her and Amy. “Yes. I. AM,” she growled through gritted teeth (if they could even see she had teeth). “And I know that you’re not really my friends. I’m sure you guys know about how me and Rigley succeeded in every single mission we did…except for two very specific ones. And guess what they are? Huh? Just GUESS!” She slammed the electric devices into them both.

“AAAAAAAAAGH!”

“Okay, if you won’t tell me, then I will. Who was the one who stopped me and Rigley from helping Mr. Chill awaken Goddess Reshiram? Who was the one who stopped us from helping Mr. Chill with that Shiv guy, just because we took pity on you and didn’t want to mess with your beloved Kyurem, huh? HUH? Because of you, Mr. Chill not only got mad at us, but he can’t EVER come back!”

“But…but…Miss PK…” Amy weakly argued.

“Spare me your pointless excuses. It was wrong of me to ever go soft on you guys…” She picked up the electric weapon again. “But mistakes are the one thing I NEVER REPEAT.”

“Sis! That’s not true!” argued Rigley. “They saved our lives! They helped us learn about the way things work in Tao Village! They even let us stay with them! Please tell me you remember all that!”

Ligray turned to him and glared. “Sorry, Rigley,” she spat. “It looks like YOU’RE the one who needs to get your memories back.”

Rigley’s eyes widened in horror. “But—but I don’t—!”

“You said so yourself. You said you’d like to know everything that happened before, didn’t you? So why are you so against it all of a sudden?”

“Because…because you…!”

“Think of it this way. It’ll help you understand why I am the way I am now. So what have you got to lose?”

Rigley looked at the stone, then at Ligray, then back at the stone again, but all the while unable to answer.

“Oh, you know what? I’ll do it MYSELF!” She flung Rigley and his electric cage right into the white stone with all her strength, and his head smacked right into it.

“NO!” shouted Amy and Chikorita. One psychotic Elgyem was already more than they could handle.

What if Rigley became just like her?
